FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter today (12/06/2013) paid an official visit to Serbia. Upon arrival at Belgrade airport, where he was welcomed by the President of the Football Association of Serbia Tomislav Karadžić, Blatter headed to the government building for a meeting with Serbia’s Prime Minister Ivica Dačić and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Alisa Marić.

The FIFA President took the opportunity to discuss with both Dačić and Karadzic about football development in Serbia and the situation of Kosovo.
Blatter and Karadzic then visited the Goal project funded National Technical Centre of the Serbian FA in Stara Pazova that was opened in May 2011.

Speaking at a press conference following the meetings, Blatter said: “Almost two years ago I had the honour of attending the opening of the National Technical Centre in Stara Pazova. Now we see how the Centre has become an essential asset for Serbian football and an example for other member associations.”
With regard to the situation of the Football Federation of Kosovo, he commented: “As part of FIFA´s mission to promote football globally in the light of its unifying, educational, cultural and humanitarian values, it’s also our intention to provide people in Kosovo with the appropriate tools to follow their passion for football.”
